Final Fantasy XIV: Alexander Savage Tips

So you’ve gotten to the end of the game and you want to try out the hardest content in the game. At the time of writing this, that content is currently known as Alexander Savage among the players—a much harder version of the more accessible Alexander “Normal” difficulty.

If you want to tackle content like this, you can’t go in expecting to beat it on the first try! It’s going to take a lot more effort than any other content in the game. It takes the best gear you can find, pinpoint coordination with your teammates, and loads of practice to learn the fights in and out.

However, before you can tackle the rest of that, you have to find the right people! You’ll have to put together (or join) a group called a “Static.” A Static is made up of people who take on certain roles. One player might be a White Mage, one a Dark Knight, and another a Ninja. Coming together with regular roles like this creates an environment where you always know what you need to do in a challenge like the ones found in Alexander Savage levels.

Once you form a static, another almost universal expectation is that you’ll use a program like Teamspeak. This reduces or eliminates the need to type things out during an intense battle, which is a great help when everyone has to constantly be on their toes.

Of course, even if you have all of these things, you won’t get far if you haven’t taken the time to get to know your chosen class as well as you possibly can. If you don’t by the time you join a static, you can always do research and practice in order to understand things better.

Now go form a static and take on some of that tricky content! Sure, there’s more you’ll learn over time, such as what foods to eat and when to use potions, but this knowledge comes with research and practice. Keep your eye on Geek Factor for more tips coming out soon!
